Yes. GutLedger has no accounts, no cloud sync, and no analytics SDKs. Your diary lives in a local SQLite database on your phone and never leaves it. Even I, the developer, can’t see your data — there’s no server to store it on. The app works fully offline and requires no internet connection to use.

What’s the difference between Free and Pro?

The free tier covers the entire core experience — food diary, FODMAP auto-tagging, symptoms, stool, mood, sleep, hydration, meds, period tracking, meal plans, daily gut score, and timeline. How does the FODMAP database work?

GutLedger includes 470+ foods categorised as low, moderate, or high FODMAP based on Monash University research. When you log a meal, the app auto-tags each ingredient so you can see at a glance whether you’re loading up on triggers. It supports multi-word matches (“ice cream”, “soy sauce”) and works through barcode scanning with offline caching in Pro.

Can I share reports with my GP or dietitian?

Yes. Pro includes PDF doctor reports with your symptom history, food patterns, and trigger analysis — ready to email or print for an appointment. There’s also CSV export for your raw data if you want to analyse it yourself or hand it over in a structured form.

Will I lose my data if I change phones?

Pro includes database backup & restore — export your entire diary to a file and restore it on a new phone with a tap. Your data stays yours; I just give you the keys to move it around.

Is this medical advice?

No. GutLedger is a tracking and pattern-spotting tool, not a diagnostic device. It helps you gather the data and observations that make conversations with your GP, gastroenterologist, or dietitian more productive. Always follow the advice of a qualified clinician for your actual treatment.

Who built this, and why?

I built it alone. I have IBS myself and spent years juggling a Notes-app diary, a separate FODMAP reference, a symptom app that wanted a subscription, and a mood tracker that sold my data.
